Bhowali is a small hill station that falls under the Nainital district of Uttarakahnd. It is located on the main Haldwani-Almora-Ranikhet road, at an altitude of 1706 meters. February-April, September-October are the best months to visit Bhowali. However, Bhowali experiences pleasant weather throughout the year. The summers in the town are hot but evening cool waves are refreshing. The winters are quite freezing and do carry heavy woollens if travelling during the season. The monsoon is a season that should be avoided. Although the place looks all fresh and blooming, landslide may ruin your trip.

A famous temple of Lord Gollu, another name for Lord Shiva, the Chitai temple was built during the Chand regime.
