Kufri
Kufri is situated at an altitude of about 2743 mtrs above sea level at distance of about 329 kms from Delhi and around 13 km from Shimla. The word kufri means Lake in the local language. It has a highest due to which it is a popular hill station for adventurous lovers. Kufri has the oldest skiing slopes in Himachal. Kufri is the starting point for the trekkers to Manali, Shimla, Rewalsar and Fagu among others. This is the place to beat the summer , one can enjoy with their family in summer vacations as climate remains cool and pleasant along with stunning natural beauty. In February month annual winter sports festival is held in Kufri by the travel and tourism department of Himachal Pradesh, this is a major attraction with tourists. The main event at the festivalis the skiing competition.
Including Kufri the region around Shimla was once a part of the Kingdom of Nepal later the area was taken by the British Raj as part of the Sugauli Treaty. The region was hidden until the British 'discovered' it in 1819.
How to Reach Us
By Air Jabbar Bhatti near Shimla is the nearest Airport. Another major and well connected to other cities and coutries is Chandigarh Airport which is at a distance of about 66 kms from Kufri. Cabs/ Taxis are easily available from Airport.
By Rail The Shimla railway station is about 13 km away from Kufri. Another is Ambala and Chandigarh Station to reach Shimla by toy train. Cabs/ Taxis are easily available from Railway station.
By Road Buses linking Kufri from Shimla, Narkanda and Rampur are readily available. Privately hired cabs and buses are also available.
Best Season to visit
Summer (April-June) The temperature in Kufri remains between 12 to 19 degree Celsius.
Monsoon (July-October) The temperature stays between 9 to 11 degrees Celsius, receives modest rainfall.
Winter (November-March) The winters here are very cold , temperature drops to around -4 degree Celsius and sometimes to even -10 degrees Celcius. Snowfall is common in winters here.
Foods There are several street joints available serving tasty parathas, pakoras, chaat and noodles. In Indira Tourist Park the coffee shop is popular with the locals.Hotels and resorts provide multi-cuisine delicacies like Indian, Chinese, Continental and Italian.

Kufri Fun World
It is one of the highest amusement parks in the world and Located about 2800 metres above sea level. Kufri Fun World is situated around the snow-capped Himalayan peaks which looks amazing.
Horse Ride to the Mahasu Peak
It is the highest peak in Kufri, the only transportation mode is by horse/mule. On the way you can enjoy apple orchards and the view of the mountains.
Skiing
For winter sports activity best time in kufri is from mid- December to early February, during this period Kufri has perfect snow carpet. Altitude sickness should be checked before going for the trip. If you are planning for skiing then your footwear should be according to that. Himachal Tourism offers ski courses, instruction and has equipment for hire at Kufri.
The Himalayan National Park
This park is located in round 90 hectares of land and is a home of many animals like musk deer, barking deer, black deer, and leopard cat. Facilities of camping are also available here.
Mahasu Peak
It is the highest peak and is well suited for the adventurous activities such as hiking and trekking. One can easily see Badrinath and Kedarnath from here. This path is only be covered on horse/mule back, path is very muddy one cannot walk by foot. On top of the peak Nag temple is situated , you can visit that as well.
Indira Tourist Park
This Park is close to the Himalayan National Park, it is a cool place to relax in the beauty of nature and can have food, coffee.In this park Yak and Pony rides are available, one can enjoy the same.
Kufri fun world
This is a good place for the tourists to spend some memorable time with the families and friends. This park is very beautiful and provide facilities like various rides, pools and with many other.
Chini Bunglow
It is the Kufri bungalow which is very famous for its statues and architecture.
