Tattapani
Tattapani is situated at an altitude of about 650 mtrs and around 49 kms from Shimla. This place is famous for its hot sulphur spring water with medicinal properties to cure diseases. The name itself suggests that “Tapta” means hot and “Pani” means water.People come here from far places to take a dip into this spring , this water provides relief from joint pains, fatigue and stress and skin disease. As per test reports hot spring water has got 37 precious minerals which has got therapeutic medicinal values. Every year people gather here on the auspicious days of Tara Ratri, Lohri and Baisakhi day to take a dip to clean thereselves of one’s sins.
Tattapani is a small village on the banks of river Sutlej, one can enjoy rafting here but with less rapids, those who are afraid of river rafting an enjoy this rafting. Attractions of Tattapani is Hot water springs, temples, caves, meadows and various venturesome activities like trekking, river rafting and rock climbing. By Air Jabarhatti Airport is the nearest Airport at a distance of about 68 km from Tattapani.The other nearest airport is Chandigarh which is around 153 km. Cabs/Taxis are available from Airport.
By Rail Shimla is the nearest Railway station which is about 51 km from Tattapani. It connects all the major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Cochin, Chennai, etc. Cabs/Taxis are available from Railway Station.

Best Season to visit
Summer (April - July) The temperature remains comfortable between 16 to 28 degrees Celcius. Good time for outdoor activities like paragliding, white water river rafting, trekking, zorbing.
Monsoon (July - September) The temperature stays pleasant between 13 to 20 degrees Celsius. In this season visit can be avoided since it rains heavily during this period and sometimes at a stretch for a couple of days.
Winter (December - February) The hill station starts to witness snow in December when the temperature drops down to as low as -7 to -8 degrees Celsius. December to February is the ideal time to enjoy the snowfall

Attractions
Hot Water Spring
As the name of this town suggests meaning 'hot water', the sulphur hot water on the right bank of River Sutlej has a medicinal values, it is believed that a dip in the hot water can cure skin diseases, joint pains and fatigue. It disappears in the month of June and July as the level of the river rises, It reappears in November and December.
River Rafting
Tattapani is also famous for water activity. River Sutlej one of the longest rivers of India you can do river rafting here. Ideal month for this activity is during May and June. One can also enjoy this activity from Chabba (12 kms) to Tattapani or from Sunni (5 kms) to Tattapani. Another option is a stretch of 36 kms from Pandowa to Tattapani.
Shiva cave
Shiva Cave is almost 3.5 km from Tattapani in Saraur and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You can reach this temple either by a 10 min drive or by climbing well maintained 450 stairs.
